WORDPRESS DEVELOPER

SUMMARY

We’re seeking an experienced WordPress developer to work with our team to build responsive websites for a variety of clients. You will be responsible for building both the front-end and customizing the WordPress back-end with direction from our digital producers and designers. Our ideal candidate appreciates great web design, has ridiculously good front-end skills, and recognizes the administrative needs of less technical clients and can create a user-friendly, organized WordPress CMS interface.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • ·       Collaborate with digital producer and designers to build 100% custom, responsive WordPress websites off of page designs/wireframes and functional requirements documentation.
  • ·       Work with designers to translate static PSDs into interactive user experiences, adding animation and interactivity as needed.
  • ·       Source, implement, and customize WordPress plugins to meet project requirements.
  • ·       Integrate 3rd party systems into WordPress environment via APIs.
  • ·       Optimize WordPress websites for SEO, speed, and overall performance.
  • ·       Manage website quality assurance, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks.
  • ·       QAing for browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, IE, etc.) and device (iPhone, Android) compatibility.
  • ·       Implementing tracking codes for Google Analytics, Tag Manager, AdRoll, marketing automation, etc.
  • ·       Work with digital producer to create timelines, estimates, and scope of works for website projects.
  • ·       Manage time and prioritize projects in order to meet established deadlines and budgets. Must be able to remain cool and collected under pressure.
  • ·       Build productive relationships with co-workers, clients and external vendors through excellent collaboration, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • ·       Contribute to ongoing improvement of internal processes to allow for smooth execution of web projects and improving efficiency across departments and project team members.

REQUIREMENTS

  • ·       Experience developing custom WordPress websites and themes with a portfolio of completed projects.
  • ·       Expert level knowledge in CSS3, HTML5, Javascript, jQuery, and WordPress development.
  • ·       A deep knowledge of responsive design and best practices for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
  • ·       Possesses a great eye for effective UX/UI design, able to self-QA development work.
  • ·       Advanced knowledge of relevant server-side technologies, including PHP and MySQL.
  • ·       Ability to effectively communicate technical (hosting, DNS, etc.) needs, requirements, and solutions to account directors, producers, and clients.
  • ·       Experience with WP Engine managed WordPress hosting and other hosting providers.
  • ·       Experience using Google Analytics to provide analysis of website traffic, user behavior, and goals.
  • ·       Extremely detail-oriented with strong organization and task-management skills.
  • ·       Passionate about delivering the best possible product, without jeopardizing budget, timeline, or relationships.
  • ·       Must live and breathe WordPress. Ability to communicate best practices and trends.
  • ·       Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Keynote, and Google Apps.
  • ·       Technical degree/certifications strongly preferred.
